  1. The Laws & Customs Of Yom Kippur

The Laws & Customs Of Yom Kippur

    $12.00

The study of Shulchan Aruch at times is very challenging in terms of clarifying the final stance of the learned subject. This especially applies in instances that many cases and opinions exist within a given topic. In addition, throughout the generations hundreds of practical questions on the laws in Shulchan Aruch arose. Getting a proper grasp on the laws of Yom KIppur especially faces this challenge due to the complexity of the cases and the range of opinions. Even amongst the currently available English literature, the opinion of the greatest of the Achronim, the Shulchan Aruch Harav, is many times omitted or not given its proper presence. Likewise, the Chabad custom related to Yom Kippur is not given their proper presence. This Sefer tackles all the above deficiencies. A clear summary of the rulings of the Shulchan Aruch Harav and Chabad custom, supplemented with the opinions of the Mishneh Berurah and Kaf Hachaim. This is accompanied with hundreds of practical Q&A that were compiled from classical Halachic sources. All this is compiled with informative footnotes that lend the reader background information and other opinions voiced on the subject matter. Learn More

  6. An Inner Perspective

    An Inner Perspective

    $19.00

Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, father of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, was a profound Torah scholar who served as the rabbi of the Ukrainian city of Yekaterinoslav (now Dnepropetrovsk). He is said to have composed thousands of pages of original Torah thoughts and discourses. The bulk of these writings are considered lost during the tumultuous years of WWII, and extant today are only those he penned on the margins of the few books he had during his final years, while in exile in Chi’ili, in far-off Kazakhstan. More than a decade after R. Levi Yitzchak’s passing in Alma-Ata in 1944, these writings were brought to the United States, where they reached his illustrious son, the Lubavitcher Rebbe. In the 1970s, they were published in five volumes under the titles of Likkutei Levi Yitzchak and Torat Levi Yitzchak, and the Rebbe began regularly expounding on these terse glosses at his public addresses.

Comprising sixteen essays, the present work was adapted by Rabbi Eli Block from R. Levi Yitzchak’s original works as well as from the Rebbe’s elucidations. Learn More

  9. The Second Generation: R. Dovber of Lubavitch - Historical Sketches

The Second Generation: R. Dovber of Lubavitch - Historical Sketches

    $14.50

From the diary of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak of Lubavitch

The fourth installment of Historical sketches, this work focuses on the life of R. DovBer Schneuri, second Rebbe of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. During the years of his leadership, the sun of chabad Chasidism shone with all its might and glory, as this was a time marked by tranquility from opposition and extensive efforts in studying and disseminating the teachings of Chasidut.

Penned by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, this monograph records R. DovBer's concern with the economic plight of the Jewish masses, which had been ravaged by the Napoleonic Wars, and how he encouraged his Jewish brethren to engage in agriculture and basic trade, even petitioning the Czar to improve the Jews' financial position by granting then parcels of land to cultivate and settle thereon. The monograph also describes the events surrounding the arrest and liberation of R. DovBer, toward the end of his life. Learn More

  10. Security for the Land of Israel - The Lubavitcher Rebbe

Security for the Land of Israel - The Lubavitcher Rebbe

    $41.00

We are living in times when the words of the Torah concerning the solitude of the Jewish people " lo, it is a people that shall dwell alone" (Numbers 23:9) ring so true. There are many coalitions throughout the world, from without and within, that are attempting to undermine Israel's security by imposing impossible and ruinous demands that Israel relinquish its G-d-given rights to their own Land. The Rebbe dedicated hundreds of talks, pouring out his heart, pleading and demanding that Israel does not accede to these unreasonable and dangerous demands. Giving up land, for an illusion of peace, is not only a betrayal of G-d who gave us the land but it will pose the single greatest threat to the security of Israel. Millions of lives are at risk; and even one life is enough to warrant our strongest sense of protest against relinquishing any part of Israel. The concern for the security of Israel and the rejection of any compromise in this regard, the Rebbe based on a clear and unequivocal law (Hil. Shabbos sec. 329) that states that a Jewish enclave surrounded by armed enemies must never allow them to occupy any part of Jewish land even if they promise not to attack. The Jewish community is obliged to even wage war to prevent that from happening even if it is the holy day of Shabbos. We owe a debt of gratitude to Rabbi Binyomin Schlanger for collecting and skillfully translating into the English language the Rebbe's cry for sanity in the Holy Land, making the Rebbe's historic and timeless words available to the English-speaking public. Rabbi Schlanger translates the Rebbe's words spoken originally in Yiddish into readable and accessible English. Rabbi Greenberg, Buffalo, NY: "It is incumbent on all who are concerned for the security of Israel and the lives of all its inhabitants, and for all for whom the Rebbe's pleas that stemmed from the depths of his holy heart and soul, strike a responsive chord in their hearts, - to disseminate this work to the widest audience.
