  1. Security for the Land of Israel - The Lubavitcher Rebbe

Security for the Land of Israel - The Lubavitcher Rebbe

    $41.00

We are living in times when the words of the Torah concerning the solitude of the Jewish people " lo, it is a people that shall dwell alone" (Numbers 23:9) ring so true. There are many coalitions throughout the world, from without and within, that are attempting to undermine Israel's security by imposing impossible and ruinous demands that Israel relinquish its G-d-given rights to their own Land. The Rebbe dedicated hundreds of talks, pouring out his heart, pleading and demanding that Israel does not accede to these unreasonable and dangerous demands. Giving up land, for an illusion of peace, is not only a betrayal of G-d who gave us the land but it will pose the single greatest threat to the security of Israel. Millions of lives are at risk; and even one life is enough to warrant our strongest sense of protest against relinquishing any part of Israel. The concern for the security of Israel and the rejection of any compromise in this regard, the Rebbe based on a clear and unequivocal law (Hil. Shabbos sec. 329) that states that a Jewish enclave surrounded by armed enemies must never allow them to occupy any part of Jewish land even if they promise not to attack. The Jewish community is obliged to even wage war to prevent that from happening even if it is the holy day of Shabbos. We owe a debt of gratitude to Rabbi Binyomin Schlanger for collecting and skillfully translating into the English language the Rebbe's cry for sanity in the Holy Land, making the Rebbe's historic and timeless words available to the English-speaking public. Rabbi Schlanger translates the Rebbe's words spoken originally in Yiddish into readable and accessible English. Rabbi Greenberg, Buffalo, NY: "It is incumbent on all who are concerned for the security of Israel and the lives of all its inhabitants, and for all for whom the Rebbe's pleas that stemmed from the depths of his holy heart and soul, strike a responsive chord in their hearts, - to disseminate this work to the widest audience.

In Great Jewish Classics, Rabbi Moshe Bamberger takes us on a fascinating exploration of some of Judaism's most important and beloved holy books. He shares absorbing and often little-known biographical and historical background, legends, stories, and, of course, a short and readable analysis of the contents of each Jewish classic.

And pictures! So many evocative images: A twelfth-century manuscript of Rambam's Mishneh Torah, including his own handwritten edits; the first edition of the Shnei Luchos Habris of the Shelah HaKadosh; a 1939 postcard from Rav Chaim Ozer Grodzensky to the Chazon Ish; a copy of the Kedushas Levi with a heartrending, handwritten postscript written in the Lodz Ghetto by its owner, who later perished in the Holocaust - here is a stunning collection of images that bring these scholars and their contributions to Klal Yisrael to vivid life.

From Rashi to Rav Chaim Soloveitchik, from the Pnei Yehoshua to Rav Ovadia Yosef, from Torah and Talmud commentaries to collections of halachic responsa and works of mussar - Great Jewish Classics introduces us anew to more than 100 classic Jewish books that have molded and guided our people Learn More

When did he first meet his father-in-law and predecessor, and what was the relationship between them like? These questions and others about the Rebbe’s early life have never been answered comprehensively.

Presenting newly-uncovered government documents, private journals, letters and diaries, Rabbis Boruch Oberlander and Elkanah Shmotkin have produced a highly-engaging account which offers an unimpeded view of the formative years of modern Judaism’s most recognized personality.

  5. Great Jewish Treasures, A Collection Of Precious Judaica, Associated With Torah leaders

Great Jewish Treasures, A Collection Of Precious Judaica, Associated With Torah leaders

    $47.50

The word "treasure" usually conjures up an image of a wooden chest overflowing with gold coins, diamonds, and rubies. Jewish treasures are different. Ours are not those which fill the coffers, but those that enrich the soul: The words of Torah we learn, the mitzvos we perform, and our attachment to Hashem. Even in the physical realm, when an object is utilized for a Divine purpose - especially by a spiritual giant - it is deemed a treasure indeed.

Rabbi Moshe Bamberger, author of Great Jewish Letters and Great Jewish Speeches, now brings his talent for finding fascinating and unusual historical facts and stunning visual images to the world of rabbinic artifacts - genuine Jewish treasures.

In these gorgeous pages we will find the ancient seal of the Ramban which was only recently unearthed in the Holy Land. We will read the rabbinical ordination conferred by the Chida, be dazzled by the exquisite Torah crown of the Ruzhiner Rebbe, and behold the "Last Ketzos" sold in America. We will view the Vilna Gaon's Gemara - along with his glosses and the wax drippings from his candle, the shofar used by the Bluzhover Rebbe in Bergen Belsen, and Rabbi Aharon Kotler's grand blueprint for Beth Medrash Govoha. As we gaze upon the precious possessions of some of the world's most noted Jews - Rabbi Yaakov Kamenetsky's storied Kiddush cup, Rabbi Chaim Pinchas Scheinberg's famous tzitzis, and Rebbetzin Kanievsky's holy Shabbos candlesticks - we see more than interesting artifacts; we get a profound feeling for the people who owned these objects and used them in their service of G-d, His Torah and His People.
