  1. Exploring the Soul - V'Chol Odom 5679

    Exploring the Soul - V'Chol Odom 5679

    $14.50

A chasidic discourse by Rabbi Shalom DovBer Schneersohn of Lubavitch

Once a year, on Yom Kippur, the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies to perform the required duties. Generally, the entry into this innermost sanctuary was forbidden. It was only on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year, that permission was granted for the High Priest alone to enter.

The current discourse, delivered by R. Shalom Dovber Schneersohn, fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe, on Shabbat Parashat Acharei, 5679 (1919), analyzes the biblican verse which forbids any human being from being present in the sanctuary when the High Priest entered to seek atonement. If, as the verse in Leviticus states: "No man shall be int he Tent of Meeting" at that time, how could the High Priest himself be present?

By Thoroughly exploring the soul and all of its components, the discourse explains how the High Priest, on Yom Kippur, transcended the normative bounds of human limitation and ascended to the sublime level of "no man." This granted him the permission and sanction to enter the Holy of Holies.

In practical terms, says the Rebbe, this is the challenge of man: To access and utilize the sprarational dimension of the soul to reveal G-dliness within the world, through repentance, the study of Torah, and performance of mitzvot. Learn More

  2. The Letter & The Spirit #3

The Letter & The Spirit #3

    $29.95

THE LETTER AND THE SPIRIT is a collection of English correspondence of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, written to the individual, yet with a relevant message and lesson for the many.

Rabbi Dr. Nissan Mindel , personal secretary of the Rebbe for over four decades and responsible for his correspondence, describes in fascinating detail in his comprehensive introduction to this multi-volume compendium, the process by which the Rebbe’s letters were written.

The thousands of letters of the Rebbe, a copy of which he entrusted to Rabbi Mindel, were carefully preserved and categorized by Rabbi Mindel , some of which were then chosen and prepared for publication, with permission from the Rebbe. This project, particularly dear to his heart, Rabbi Mindel did so that the holy wisdom contained in the letters would continue to guide and comfort countless others. He selected the letters with care and maintained his high standards of strict confidentiality by removing any clue that might compromise the identity of the person to whom the letter was written.

Rabbi Mindel organized these letters into numerous topics and wrote an introduction to each section, highlighting the particular subject of the section. These topics cover a broad range of interests, questions and situations, matters of great importance to the reader. Learn More

  3. The Chassidishe Parsha Torah Or-Likkutei Torah

The Chassidishe Parsha Torah Or-Likkutei Torah

    $25.00

English literature available on Chassidus has increased tenfold throughout the years, having us witness a real breakthrough in this regard. Hundreds of classical Chassidic texts have been translated and annotated by renowned writers and publishers. The monumental work of Tanya has been translated, explained, and disseminated in English throughout all corners of the globe. Nonetheless, we find that one of the greatest works of Chassidic thought has not yet found its way onto the English bookshelf, the Mamarim of Torah Or and Likkutei Torah of the Alter Rebbe. These works are considered to be the Oral Torah of the Tanya and are hence complementary to it. The Mamarim of Torah Or and Likkutei Torah are the foundation of most of the Mamarim of Chassidus of all the later generations. One of the reasons for the lack of an English counterpart for this Sefer is because of its great depth and advanced Kabbalistic jargon. It is our great honor to offer the English-speaking public the first full English counterpart for the great, illustrious works of Torah Or and Likkutei Torah. The Sefer includes a single Mamar per Parsha, which is summarized, explained, and brought into practical application for the reader. The Mamarim are not a direct translation of the Hebrew original, but rather a content summary of the Mamar. At times, due to the extended length of a certain Mamar, we may only summarize a certain section of the Mamar, and not the Mamar in its entirety. Each Parsha features a single selected Mamar from amongst the many Mamarim that are printed in the Hebrew original, giving our readers a taste and glimpse of the full content of this monumental work. Our main goal is for the reader to receive the content knowledge of the most fundamental Mamarim written by the Alter Rebbe, and for him to be given the tools for how to implement this knowledge within his daily life. Each Mamar concludes with a lessons box that summarizes the practical life lessons that we can derive from the Mamar. Also included are interesting parables that we find easy to relate to and help us to digest the content being studied, and internalize it. It is our heartfelt prayer that the Mamarim in this Sefer will uplift your spiritual experience and give you spiritual hope, faith, love, and trust in Hashem, being the light that illuminates your relationship with G-d.
