  1. I was totally mesmerized by this outstanding, extraordinary original and creative analysis of the role the Shalosh Regalim play in representing the most fundamental elements of Jewish faith. In this work, which is organized, compelling, and full of deep wisdom, Rabbi Neil Lauer combines highly rigorous halakhic analysis with deeply thoughtful homiletical insights in a most seamless and clearly presented way. He extracts great wisdom hitherto hidden in plain sight on these important celebrations as well as on a multitude of other Jewish concepts and practices. Over and over again I found myself saying, “I knew this source, but never realized its true full meaning and significance. Of course, now it is obvious.” We owe Rabbi Lauer a great debt for the exceptional gift he has given us. Your understanding and appreciation of the Shalosh Regalim, like mine, will never be the same again.

  3. This is the most incredible year in the history of the world.
    And you are there.

Well, not quite. But as you read the "diary" of Amiasaf, a Jewish boy living in Mitzrayim, you will feel like you're with him, and with all Bnei Yisrael.

You'll cry with Amiasaf, as his brutal Egyptian master torments him. You'll laugh, as Amiasaf's younger brother is forced by Egyptian thugs to drink the water of the Nile that has turned into blood, and instead the little Jewish slave gets cool, clear water. You'll travel to a yeshivah of Levi'im in Goshen and walk with lions and bears during the plague of arov. Most important of all, you'll learn the secret of how Bnei Yisrael held on to their belief that they would be freed from slavery, no matter how dark things looked.

You've heard the story of Yetziyas Mitzrayim so many times. Now you can really feel it!

  4. An original, fascinating rendition of the miracles of Kriyas Yam Suf

    Dear Children,

This book is a continuation of We're Leaving Egypt, the Just Imagine comic about Yetzias Mitzrayim. This volume is intended to illustrate for children living in our generation, the wondrous miracles which were performed for our forefathers at Yam Suf. At the time of Kriyas Yam Suf, of course, there were no cars, tanks, or airplanes. This book attempts to describe, in an entertaining and entirely imaginary way, what the splitting of the sea might look like if it took place today.

The world has changed drastically in the thousands of years that have passed since Yetzias Mitzrayim and therefore, it is very hard for us to feel the reality that existed in those days. It's hard for us to connect to the power of the wondrous miracles that occurred. It's hard for us to understand how astounding and exceptional they were—so much so that the mind can hardly grasp it...

But the truth is that the miracles then were not significantly different than similar miracles that could take place in our time...When the sea split for Bnei Yisrael, who crossed it as if it was dry land—it was an unbelievable miracle, just like it would be unbelievable if the sea split today and we would be able to drive through it on paved roads. When grass grew from the sea bed that froze—miraculously—it was a wonder of wonders, just like it would be a marvel in our time, if a gas station would "sprout" from the depths of the ocean...The same applies to all the other remarkable miracles.

You're invited to join the Yidden leaving Egypt and cross the Yam Suf with them!

Experience for yourself the amazing miracles that accompanied them every step of the way. Learn More

  5. A fascinating, breathtaking journey to Yerushalayim of yesteryear to sacrifice the Korban Pesach in the Beis HaMikdash

    Dear Children,

I'm happy to inform you that you've been chosen for a very important and responsible job. You have been chosen to serve as "ambassadors"! And not just any ambassador of one country or another, but ambassadors of all Am Yisrael, though the generations.

As ambassadors, I invite you to take your second journey, together with Reb Emmanuel, Yanky, Shimmy, and Dovi. I guarantee that you've never taken a trip like this before. It's an imaginary journey, but all the places we will visit are real, and all the events that take place really did happen.

Our journey this time is to Yerushalayim Ir Hakodesh, during those glorious days when the Second Beis HaMikdash stood in all its splendor. The date of our journey is also unique: We'll arrive in Yerushalayim shortly before Pesach, and we'll have the privilege to offer a korban Pesach, and experience a Pesach Seder where they ask the Five Questions!

So come quickly, the time machine is about to take off... Learn More

May one who will be on an airplane for an entire night of Chanukah use a flashlight for ner Chanukah?

Rav Zev Smith is a popular maggid shiur and much sought-after speaker on halachic issues who has thousands of recorded shiurim in circulation on a wide range of interesting and relevant, day-to-day topics. His unique blend of halachah and hashkafah, and his knack for explaining difficult concepts in a down-to-earth, practical way, draw both scholars and laymen who seek a thorough grasp of halachah topics. In this fascinating book, he and Rabbi Dovid Kaiser, a previously published author of Torah works as well as a maggid shiur in halachah, have adapted some of the best of Rav Smith's halachah shiurim into written form. Arranged according to the months of the year, What's the Halachah? follows a specific, reader-friendly format. Each chapter begins with a set of intriguing questions on a topic in halachah, which is followed by a broad discussion of the halachic issues the topic involves. The chapter concludes with an application of the information discussed to the initial queries.

What's the Halachah? is a book that will do more than just teach you halachah; it will open before you the vastness and the beauty of the world of halachah. Learn More

  7. As in Hilchos Shabbos, in Hilchos Yom Tov we have followed the "derech kitzora" (path of brevity), and have concentrated primarily on acquainting the reader with the main principles of the laws of Yom Tov. In addition, we have presented a number of practical applications. Thus, one will be equipped to ask one's Rav for further guidance after studying this sefer.

In Hilchos Shabbos we organized the sefer in accordance with the sequence used by the Chayei Adam in his sefer Zichru Toras Moshe. Likewise, in Hilchos Yom Tov as well, we have organized the sefer according to the arrangement of the Chayei Adam, which follows the order of the thirty-nine Melachos. Thus, each chapter in this sefer parallels the corresponding chapter in Kitzur Hilchos Shabbos.

The advantage to this system is that one who has already studied the laws of Shabbos from our sefer can now easily find the halachos of Yom Tov relevant to that subject in the same chapter as that topic is discussed in Hilchos Shabbos. Moreover, within each chapter, one can frequently follow the order of the numbers assigned to each subtopic, and thereby see how the halacha in regard to Yom Tov differs from Shabbos. Learn More

Oh, you certainly know the answer—we and our children would still be slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt right now!

And what if Hashem would have mercy on us and take us out of Egypt in our generation? How would that look?
