Yakov was born in London England and emigrated to the USA together with his family when he was 14 years old. He is one of 7 children. Rabbi Yakov Saacks is the founder, director and senior Rabbi of the Lubavitch Chai Center in Dix Hills, Long Island, NY. In late 1993, Rabbi Saacks together with his wife Zoey, moved to Dix Hills, NY, from Brooklyn, NY, to initiate what is today a vibrant organization and institution affectionately known as The Chai Center.

The Rabbi splits his time in Dix Hills, NY and Brooklyn, NY where most of his adult children live.
