In this treatise, the fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe clarifies how one is to go about preparing for Divine worship, explainig the role and dynamics of contemplation before and during prayer. The Tract on Prayer is, in the words of his son and sucessor, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, "a definitive guide to finding a balm and remedy for the maladies of the soul, and to develop one's faculties and abilities through genuine service."
