  3. Three discourses by Rabbi Shalom DovBer Schneersohn of Lubavitch

On the second of Rosh Hashanah, 5659 (1898), Rabbi Shalom Dovber Schneersohn, fifth Rebbe of Chabad-Lubavitch, delivered a Chasidic discourse, and with it began a series of discourses. In the course of the High Holidays, Rabbi Shalom DovBer delivered another two discourses, building on various points in the first discourse. Over the course of Sukkot and the ensuing weeks, the Rebbe continued delivering further discourses in the series. The series contained a total of eight discourses.

A collection of 3 chasidic discourses by Rabbi Shalom DovBer Schneersohn. The discourses in this series are among the first with which students of Chabad Yeshivot are initiated into more complex chasidic texts, and the current work presents an English translation of the first three discourses in this classic series. 5. A Chassidic Perspective on Biblical Events, Laws, and Personalities

The Inside Story is a journey into the fascinating and empowering world of the Torah’s inner meanings. What did God really want to happen when He put a man, a woman, a serpent, and a forbidden tree together in a garden, and what does this tell us about our own transgressions and debacles? How do we build our own “Noah’s ark” to escape the flood of material worries and cares that threaten to drown our spiritual sensitivities? Why do certain things pursue us no matter how much we try to avoid them? Which is the more important goal to pursue, tranquility or joy? The eighty essays in this volume, which are based on the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s writings and talks, each explore an event or insight from one of the twelve weekly Torah readings of the book of Genesis to illuminate the big questions of life as well as its most rudimentary concerns. 6. Beginning with the evolution of Chassidic mysticism—commencing with the Baal Shem Tov—the book’s narrative is ultimately drawn to the climactic nature of our present era. Penned as an encounter between two friends, Danni and Jay, the manuscript is interlaced with their animated interaction. This occurs as Danni, the more observant of the two, shares Chassidic insights with his disenfranchised friend, Jay, during a flight to Poland on an education Jewish Federation mission. When Danni speaks out in Treblinka, it causes an inner shift in Jay, leaving him spiritually inspired and motivated. Yet, at the same time he grows increasingly perturbed over his seemingly insurmountable religious predicament. Danni eases Jay’s distress through the teachings of Chassidus as it relates to our particular age and to each individual.

In Jay’s character the author attempts to address the prevalent state of affairs within the broader Jewish community—the untold number of religiously challenged, due to a lack of Jewish education. How many Jays are out there?

The “creative literary” style of this book is designed to convey the core principles of Chassidic philosophy in a most palpable, user friendly fashion. Learn More

What do the “four guardians” teach us about the interplay between responsibility and reward in our own lives? The sixty-two essays in this volume each explore an event or insight from the book of Exodus to illuminate the big questions of life as well as its most rudimentary concerns. Learn More

  8. From Behind The Curtain, Chassidic Guide To Finding Hashem

Emerging from the eighteenth-century remote villages of the Ukraine and Poland, the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov and his students have recently experienced an unprecedented revival within the Jewish world, touching the souls of thousands of Jews seeking a deeper and more meaningful relationship with our Father in Heaven.

For years, many of these teachings have remained inaccessible to the English speaker. Until now.
